Dimensional tolerances U Bend Tube acc. to TEMA R.C.B.

Permissible variations from the speciﬁed outside diameter shall not exceed ±0.004 in. [0.10 mm] for tubing under 1.0 in. [25.4 mm] outside diameter nor ±0.006 in.[0.15 mm] for tubing 1.0 in. [25.4 mm] to 1.25 in.[31.7 mm] inclusive. These tolerances do not apply to the bent portion of the U-tubes. At the bent portion of a U-tube for R p 2 D or greater neither the major nor minor diameter of tube shall deviate from nominal by more than 10%. If 11⁄2 D is speciﬁed, tolerances could be greater.

1) U Bend Pipes Length of straight part -0/+5 mm
Flattening (also called “ovality”) at the bend shall not exceed 10% of the nominal tube outside diameter.
Wall thickness in bending part acc. to TEMA R.C.B 2.31

2) Permissible variations from the speciﬁed minimum wall thickness shall not exceed +20% or −0. The wall thickness of the tube in U-bent section shall be not less than value determined by: tf p T(2R)/(2R+D)
Where: tf p wall thickness after bending, in. [mm],
T p speciﬁed minimum tube wall thickness, in. [mm],
R p centerline bend radius, in. [mm], and
D p nominal outside tube diameter, in. [mm].

3) U Bend Tube Radius tolerance
1) for R 100 mm +/- 3 mm
2) for R ≥ 100 mm +/- 5 mm

4). U bend Pipe Straightness tolerance max. 1,5 mm per 1 m
U Bend Tube ends: plain, vertically cut to the tube axis

U Bend Tube OD in mm can be bent upon agreement: 15.8 16.0 17.0 18.0 19.05 20.0 21.3 25.4 26.7 31.8 32.0 38.1mm

U Bend Pipe Other details:
a. All tubes are cut to the specified leg lengths and internally cleaned with air, ends are deburred.
b. Before packing, both ends of U-bends are capped with plastic caps.
c. Vertical separators for each radius.
d. Packing lists, covered with plastic, are placed on each plywood case for easy identification of order details, including exact list of radius and lengths inside.
