ASME SA213 TP347H ASTM A213 TP347 TP347H Stainless Steel Tubes
TP347 / TP347H is a stabilized austenitic stainless steel designed for high-temperature service. Key features include:
- High-Temperature Strength: Resists creep and oxidation up to 800°C (1472°F).
- Stabilization with Niobium (Nb): Minimizes carbide precipitation and intergranular corrosion.
- Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and chloride stress corrosion.
- Weldability: Suitable for most welding methods but requires post-weld stabilization.

Heat Treatment
- Solution Annealing: 1050–1150°C (1922–2102°F), followed by rapid cooling (water/quenching).
- Stabilization Annealing: Optional at 850–950°C (1562–1742°F) for 2–4 hours to enhance intergranular corrosion resistance.
Precautions for Use
- Avoid Sensitization: Prolonged exposure to 425–860°C (797–1580°F) may cause carbide precipitation.
- Welding: Use low-carbon filler materials (e.g., ER347) and post-weld stabilization annealing.
- Chloride Exposure: Limit use in chloride-rich environments to prevent stress corrosion cracking.
- Thermal Cycling: Ensure proper support to mitigate thermal fatigue.
- Inspection: Regular NDT (e.g., ultrasonic testing) for high-pressure applications.
